FinOps for Platform Engineering: From Raw Cost Streams to Internal Chargeback

Introducing a cloud platform almost always comes with the question of how costs are allocated across the organization.

In other words: how do we get from a service running on a platform to an actual accounting entry for cloud services assigned to a cost center? This is an additional task that a platform team—or the responsible IT management—must define and negotiate with the organization.
